Valentine’s Day may come just once a year, but the season of romance is more than a 24-hour window.
We’re blessed in the Tri-Cities area with some of the mildest winters in the Northwest, so it seems like Spring Fever always starts earlier here than most places, and with it, the possibilities of growth and rejuvenation.
Yet that promise of renewal always seems just out of your grasp, doesn’t it?
With love and romance in the air, and Spring just around the corner, each year you find it harder and harder to recapture your former glory. Leave it for the young to act like they’re young, you might think. Losing teeth is just a part of growing old.
If you have made up your mind that your best years are behind you, and that a better smile is out of the question, then you have ruled out the possibility of good things in your future. This is the time in your life when you’re supposed to be enjoying everything you’ve worked for, not selling yourself – and your smile – short.
In this way, by limiting your possibilities and allowing your smile to continue falling apart, you are putting a limit on your quality of life, as well as putting your oral health at serious risk for ruin.
Maybe you have already tried dentures, but are disappointed in the upkeep that’s required to keep them from slipping out. Maybe you have avoided dentures for those reasons and more; just the thought of wearing them seems just as embarrassing than walking around with gaps in your smile, perhaps.
If that’s the case, I’m sorry that you’ve felt like those were your only options, because it’s simply not true.
You can recapture lost youth and beauty with a series of dental implants or implant retained dentures. The comfort, security, and beauty they can provide will completely change your idea about what’s possible when it comes to meeting the future with youthful confidence.
Which One Is Right For Me?
Simple: It depends on what you need.
If you have a few (or even several) missing or damaged teeth, then you could be an ideal candidate for a dental implant. That’s when a sturdy “anchor,” usually made of titanium, is installed beneath the gum line and into the jaw itself. It’s a minimally invasive procedure that will provide the greatest possible security for your new tooth or teeth.
Once the implant is in place, then I will place a glistening artificial crown over it, and that’s it! After a brief recovery period, you’ll be able to chew without pain, and smile without fear.
Perhaps, though, this isn’t exactly describing your smile. If you have more teeth missing than not, or are at risk for losing most of your teeth, then your best option may be a set of implant retained dentures.
Implant retained dentures work in much the same way as a dental implant, as it involves placing a titanium anchor into your jaw. If you have issues with the bone in your jaw, or don’t have enough bone to support the implant, no worry: I offer mini-dental implants that will avoid painful bone grafts which could be necessary with standard dental implants.
Once the anchors are installed, then a new set of high-quality acrylic or porcelain dentures will be created based on the shape of your smile. After those are crafted, I will install them onto the anchors – they simply “snap” in place – and then you’re all set!
They won’t require any strange adhesive powers or glues, which are a pain to carry around and to constantly reapply just to keep your smile from shifting or falling out of place.
Both dental implants and implant retained dentures are easy to clean and won’t ever shift out of where they’re supposed to be.
They will give you a newfound sense of confidence, and will take off years from your appearance. A full set of teeth can fill out your face if it has been given a “hollow” look caused by a lack of teeth, restoring your smile to a healthier and more attractive state.
You shouldn’t have any more excuses now that you know what I can do for you if you’re missing teeth and the youthful self-esteem that comes with them. Just as the romantic spirit of Valentine’s Day will last longer than the day itself, the treatment I can give you will last for years – but only if you make a commitment to change.
That commitment begins with a simple appointment at my Kennewick, WA offices. You can reach me at 509-591-0515, or you can make an appointment through this website.
