Veneer Options that Make Your Smile Amazing

Your natural smile may not be everything you wish it could be. Some people are born with amazing smiles, and they seem to never have any problems. Other smiles need some work throughout the years to create something you are proud to show off.

Here at Marineland Dental Care, we have the ability to transform your smile into a work of art! You would only trust a truly skilled dentist to alter your smile, and that’s what you’ll find in our Kennewick dental office.

Today, we want to talk about ways you can improve your smile with dental veneers. Veneers have long been used to transform smiles, but our approach is something truly unique.

Choosing to Improve Your Smile

Making the decision to improve your smile is truly that: a choice. You can live with your smile just the way it is, or you can invest in your smile through cosmetic dentistry. Whichever choice you make, we will be behind you 100%.

This information isn’t to pressure you into paying for dental work. We simply want you to know that we are worried about how you feel about your smile, and we can help! We see you hiding your smile behind your hands and feeling embarrassed when you are here at the office.

You don’t have to feel that way any longer. With the advanced power of veneers, we can help completely transform your teeth into a work of art that you can feel proud of!

Composite Veneers

One veneer option is composite veneers. Composite veneers are thin strips of composite resin that we can shape and place on your teeth. They take care of all of the same flaws that porcelain veneers treat, but there are some definite pros and cons to using this type of material.

Pros: Composite veneers are great because we can complete the entire process in one appointment. We don’t have to remove as much enamel from your teeth, and we can create your veneers right here in the office. This means results in one appointment, custom creation of your veneers, and natural teeth that haven’t been altered much at all!

Cons: Composite isn’t as strong as porcelain, which means these veneers are more prone to cracking and chipping. They also don’t reflect light as naturally as porcelain veneers.

Porcelain Veneers

Your second option is to go with porcelain veneers. Porcelain has been used for much longer than composite resin. Again, we use thin strips of porcelain to bond over the fronts of your teeth for a beautiful look to your smile. They can correct cracks, chips, uneven teeth, severe discoloration, and gaps between teeth. As with composite veneers, there are pros and cons that you should be aware of!

Pros: Porcelain veneers have been used for decades because of their incredible strength and beauty. They look like natural teeth, and they have been known to last for 20+ years. If done correctly, no one would ever know that you placed veneers on your teeth!

Cons: Porcelain veneers take quite a bit longer to place. We have to remove a layer of enamel from your teeth, take impressions, and wait a few weeks for a lab to create your veneers. They are also more expensive because the quality is higher.
