If you’ve dreamed of getting a new smile you’ve probably been stopped by one major consideration: the time involved to get the results you want! Many patients we speak to at Marineland Dental Care have the same concerns. While it’s true that many cosmetic solutions are long-term treatments there are options that can get you the results you want in as little as one visit!

For simple cosmetic issues like a gap between teeth, a deep stain that won’t come out, a chip, misshapen tooth, a minor alignment problem, or uneven enamel you don’t have to wait! Using the power of cosmetic bonding and porcelain veneers we can create the new smile you’ve been dreaming of!

Both of these treatments available at our Kennewick dentist office are able to solve the problems mentioned above but beyond that they’re very different! The hard part comes next, and that’s determining which one will be the best for you. There are plusses and minuses to each so read on to find out what’s in store for your smile!

Cosmetic Bonding

Our cosmetic bonds are made from the same material as our tooth-colored fillings: dental composite! This blend of glass and plastic is a great way to reshape your teeth! We can color match it to blend seamlessly with you smile and we’ll even finish your cosmetic bonds in just a single appointment!

The speed and ease of application are just one of the reasons cosmetic bonding is so great. It’s also excellent at perfecting natural looking teeth without the cost of other procedures! Bonding is very affordable and can get you many of the same outcomes as veneers!

When we place dental bonds on your teeth we’ll begin by slightly roughening the surface of your teeth. This will allow the resin to create a stronger bond so your bonds will last longer and look better! Once that step is complete we’ll place the composite resin onto your teeth while soft. We’ll shape the resin into the exact look you want and then quickly set it using a special light!

The end result is a beautiful new look that corrects any minor cosmetic flaws that bother you. Cosmetic bonding lasts for about three to ten years, largely determined by how well you take care of them. They can chip or break more easily than veneers but are easy to fix!

Porcelain Veneers

Don’t believe all the absurd things you hear about veneers. Maybe you’ve heard “chiclet” jokes or other exaggerations of bad veneers – that’s the past! Our modern porcelain veneers are so lifelike no one will even know you’re wearing them!

Porcelain veneers are made from the newest dental porcelains that perfectly mimic your natural teeth. After we reduce the size of your teeth to fit under your veneers we’ll take an impression which we use to build them. This process usually takes about two weeks and at a second appointment we’ll place them.

Porcelain veneers do the same things that cosmetic bonds do but, quite simply, it does them better. While it’s true bargain-priced products are usually great the same can’t be said for dental care! Veneers look amazing, last a long time, and resist stain so incredibly well that your smile will be bright and beautiful for years to come!

Veneers are more expensive than cosmetic bonding but when you consider the benefits of veneers you can quickly see why it’s more of an investment than an added expense! Compare the average life of veneers – twenty or more – to the three to ten of cosmetic bonding. Or compare the stain resistance to how easily dental composite becomes discolored. The answer becomes clear pretty quickly!

Which One Seems Right For You

Both bonding and veneers are excellent choices if want results fast. They both look incredibly lifelike but vary in their cost, longevity, and strength. The choice is up to you but we’d be happy to help you make a decision!
