You will find that our Kennewick, WA dentist’s office is a welcoming environment, where everyone is made to feel comfortable, and, well, special.
Even if you have been away for a while, or are experiencing some level of dental anxiety (a very serious condition), the team here at Marineland Dental Care can help you get the attention you deserve without any hassles or discomfort, let alone condescending lectures!
We can actually offer two different types of dental sedation too, according to your planned procedure, the length and number of treatments, and your level of anxiety.
Sedation dentistry makes sense for anyone who is anxious, has trouble sitting still, possesses particularly sensitive teeth or gums, or has a very low threshold for pain and needles, etc. Maybe you can relate!

Preventive Dental Care Matters
Much like giving your car a tune-up, or an oil change to keep it running smoothly and keep expensive problems from arising, your mouth requires regular, ongoing care. Most of this is administered by you at home in front of the bathroom mirror. If you are good about brushing, flossing, and rinsing every day, that will be a great start. But that won’t be where it ends.
You see, it is never in your best interest to avoid the cleanings that keep tooth decay and gum disease at bay or to skip the oral exams that tell us if anything is going awry in your mouth. So, like we said, if you need some help to be able to get through these preventive dentistry sessions, we are happy to help.
Contrary to what you might have been conditioned to think, we aren’t here to give you a hard time. In fact, we want to make it as easy as possible for you to stay on track and to create positive memories moving forward. That’s why, depending on the severity of your situation, we can set you up with sedation in one of these forms:
In our office we offer two levels of sedation. The minimal or lowest level is nitrous oxide which is laughing gas you may have heard of that and you may already know it helps take the edge off for people with slight anxiety. You are still awake and aware of what is going on but you don’t quite care as much, and for a lot of people, that is an adequate amount of sedation.
Our second option is oral sedation which entails taking some medication in pill form 30 to 60 minutes before the appointment. And with that, most patients with more intense anxiety will calm down and relax. With any luck, the pill will make you forget why you were ever afraid in the first place!
Take The Next Step!
We are here to help you get back on the good road in terms of oral health. And if you contact us now to schedule your next appointment, we’ll give you plenty of reasons to smile!
